4 Accas on the Same Day Net £520,632 for Irish Punter

This has to be one of the most bizarre staking strategies ever, it makes no sense at all, but then again the bloke won the bet so what do we know?

An Irish punter from Galway won £520,632.00 back in 2021 after a 22 fold football acca came in, followed by a 23 fold acca.

The completely mental thing is that he backed the first acca 3 times, and the 2nd acca was only very slightly different from the first. Acca number two did not contain the Liverpool vs Crystal Palace game, but instead included the Everton vs Wolves game as well as an additional fixture, Newcastle vs Sheff United.

All in all he made 4 bets on 2 different accas:

  • Acca 1 – £13 Stake
  • Acca 1 – £13 Stake
  • Acca 1 – £12 Stake
  • Acca 2 – £5 Stake

Acca number 2 was actually cashed out for £88,000 (he could have banked an extra £42k if he had left it), but acca number 1 was left to ride, which is another insane decision considering he had already cashed out his other acca and this one was about to lose.

For the bet to win, Sevilla needed to beat Deportivo Alaves, but at the end of 90 minutes the game was still a draw. How the Ladbrokes customer managed to hold his nerve we will never know, but it’s lucky he did because Papu Gomez scored in the 92nd minute to give Sevilla and our punter the win.

It is impossible to understand the thinking behind the bettors selections given that the games ranged from the UK, Europe, and South America and included under 19s matches; as well as the fact that all sorts of bet types were included

How the Bet Breaks Down

Irish Flag LuckyIt is impossible to understand the thinking behind the Galway bettors selections given that the games ranged from the UK, Europe, and South America and included under 19s matches; as well as the fact that all sorts of bet types were included such as BTTS, under 3.5 goals, etc.

Even harder to understand is why he placed 3 bets of different amounts on the first acca, a much smaller bet on the second acca which was almost identical to the first, then cashed out the second but not the first.

Since the baffling bet is tricky to get your head around, it’s broken down below:

Acca 1

Fixture Bet Type
Mirandes v CD Leganes BTTS – NO
Tenerife CD v RCD Mallorca Draw No Bet – RCD Mallorca
Atalanta v Juventus Double Chance – Draw/Juventus

Osasuna v Real Sociedad Real Sociedad to Win
Real Valladolid v Atletico Madrid Atletico Madrid to Win

Sevilla v Deportivo Alaves Sevilla to Win

This was the accumulator that was bet on 3 times.

Acca 2

This accumulator was almost exactly the same, except for the removal of Liverpool v Crystal Palace and the following additions:

Fixture Bet Type
Everton v Wolves Everton to Win
Newcastle v Sheffield United Newcastle to Win

This one only had a fiver staked on it and was cashed out before the end.

And we can’t even win a four fold in the Premier League… talk about luck of the Irish.
