The August Bank Holiday weekend means football, football, football, with games running from Friday afternoon all the way through to Monday evening.
Favourites dominate, underdogs prevail and there’s goals galore… it’s just picking the right bet for the right game that counts, of course.
Well, three punters did that to some tune over the weekend, with one Sky Bet customer turning their £2.21 acca into a payout of a cool £32,882.
And at William Hill, their Acca Boost promotion – which pays a percentage bonus based on how many legs a coupon has – came in very handy for two of their customers.
One was able to turn a £25 stake into £18,430 – with £10,000 of that coming from the boosted payout, while another was able to land a gargantuan 20-fold that transformed their £10 bet into a withdrawable £53,166.
Late Drama, Big Win
Goals, cards and corners… the Sky Bet customer was not concerning themselves with predicting who would win each game on their Friday funday coupon.
Erling Haaland’s brace helped their Over 3.5 Goals bet over the line in Manchester City’s trip to Crystal Palace – the Cityzens running out 4-1 victors, while club icon Vincent Kompany guided Bayern Munich to a 5-1 win in their opening Bundesliga game against Stuttgart… that an Over 4.5 Goals selection.
The punter backed a card-laden affair at the Racecourse Stadium between Wrexham and Birmingham City, but needed a 93rd minute yellow shown to Bailey Cadamarteri to get that selection over the line as the Blues ran out 2-1 winners.
Lille and PSG played out a 2-2 draw in Ligue 1, but of all the games on the coupon, this was the one that seemed most likely to let the Sky Bet customer down – PSG trailing 0-2 heading into injury time.

Just before the long weekend got underway, a William Hill customer won big on the midweek slate of EFL Cup and domestic action across Europe.
They placed a straight 18-leg acca, match result only, that was subject to the maximum Acca Boost promotion bonus of £10,000.
From Arsenal to Sporting Lisbon and from Barcelona to Salzburg, this was an acca that took in selections from across the continent.
Starting last Wednesday, it finally got over the line on Monday – Arsenal’s 1-0 triumph at Villa Park proving to be the final tick in the box.
That £25 acca returned £8,430, but with the maximum 100% boost applied for a coupon with 15+ selections – albeit at the limit of £10,000 – the final payout became £18,430.

But the biggest win was completed of the lot was completed last Tuesday.
Another William Hill customer had placed a 20-fold acca across Monday and Tuesday’s action, with one simple remit: backing home teams to win.
They scoured the globe for their selections, taking in games from Iceland to India and from South Korea to South Africa.
The punter must have been in disbelief as pick after pick landed, with Ipswich Town’s EFL Cup victory over Leicester City the only English representative on the coupon.
The likes of Techno Aryan, Cal Police Club and Viimsi MRJK did the business, with ten of the 20 selections winning by a margin of two goals or greater.
At total odds of around 4,330/1, the punter’s tenner was transformed into a payout of in excess of £43,000.
