Saturday Goal Bonanza Sees One BTTS Punter Turn £2 into £4,000 with Betfair

There were goals galore on Saturday in the Premier League, EFL and farther afield.

All five of the EPL games delivered on the both teams to score and Over 2.5 Goals fronts, while BTTS landed in nine out of the ten Championship games played.

Meanwhile, three games in English League Two finished 2-1, there were 2-2 and 3-3 draws and Salford and Crawley’s encounter turned into a 4-3 cracker.

With other European leagues also delivering, it was Christmas come early for goals-based punters… and one Betfair customer in particular took full advantage.

They placed a £2 bet on a 13-fold, BTTS accumulator at odds of just over 2,000/1. And it really was lucky number thirteen as they ticked each game off in turn… finding themselves £4,076 to the good come Saturday evening.

Here’s the tale of the tape for another acca that finds its way into the 2025/26 betting hall of fame…

Perfect Ten

Ten of the punter’s 13 selections took place on British soil.

They boldly backed Leeds United to find the net at Manchester City, but that confidence came up trumps as the two sides served up an end-to-end barnburner… the Cityzens coming out on top 3-2 thanks to Phil Foden’s injury time winner.

Brentford and Burnley’s game was 0-0 after 80 minutes before it exploded into life thereafter in a 3-1 win for the Bees, while Newcastle opened the scoring after 55 seconds against Everton… but our punter was made to sweat until the 70th minute, when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall notched a beauty for the Toffees.

Four selections in the English Championship also got over the line. Coventry’s rampage in the second tier continued as they defeated Charlton, although the Betfair customer was aided by the Addicks taking the lead after 13 minutes.

The clash between Millwall and Southampton was remarkable: goalless at half time, it exploded into life in the second period and ended 3-2 to the Lions.

And Sheffield Wednesday’s struggles continued in a 2-3 defeat against Preston… not that our punter cared, as their BTTS selection had landed after just ten minutes of play in a chaotic start to proceedings.

And finally, Wrexham and Blackburn drew 1-1… but boy, was the punter made to sweat as the Welsh side had to wait until the 95th minute for their last gasp equaliser.

In League One, Rotherham and Wycombe played out a 1-1 draw, while Kilmarnock’s encounter with Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership ended in the same scoreline.

And to cap off the perfect ten, it was into the National League. Our punter opted for Truro City’s 515-mile trip to Hartlepool United, which ended 3-1 in the favour of the hosts.

European Champion

With ten selections in the bag, just three remained for the anonymous Betfair customer – and these had a truly continental flair.

First up was the German Bundesliga encounter between Union Berlin and FC Heidenheim. The Berlin based outfit were favourites and took a first-half lead through Rani Khedira, with the game 1-0 at half time.

Little else happened until the 70th minute, when Heidenheim burst into life. They dominated the game but looked to be out of luck, until Stefan Schimmer fired home as the clock struck 90.

Heidenheim then nicked a 95th minute winner courtesy of Jan Schoppner.

Our punter’s attention remained focused on Germany and Bayer Leverkusen’s appetising tea time clash with Borussia Dortmund.

Leverkusen were in red hot form coming into this one, but it was Dortmund who romped into a 2-0 lead.

Our punter was made to wait – and wait – for a Leverkusen consolation goal, but it did eventually come in the 83rd minute via Christian Kofane.

And so just one game remained on our punter’s open coupon, who must now have been contemplating the lure of the cash out given that Christmas is just a few weeks away.

But they chose to resist the urge… would they fall head over heels for the ‘city of love’ as Paris FC hosted Auxerre?

It was a fairly quiet opening half an hour, before something finally happened – Paris FC were awarded a penalty. Their right midfielder Ilan Kebbal duly converted to put the home side a goal up.

That seemed to spark Auxerre into life, and just eight minutes later they were level – a dangerous set piece saw Lassine Sinayoko head towards goal and Sinaly Diomande nod in the equaliser.

So that was that: 13 games, 13 BTTS verdicts and one very happy Betfair customer, who had turned £2 into £4,076 over the course of a single afternoon and evening!
