Extraordinary 110,000/1 Football Bet Lands Punter £386k… But Cashing Out Costs Them £170k

The 2025/26 football season has already delivered some big wins for punters… and some eye-watering payouts for the bookies.

We search high and low for the biggest and best accas that have landed. And, just two months into the campaign, we may have just found the finest winning betslip of the year.

One Ladbrokes customer put together a 19-fold acca – yes, you read that correctly – made up exclusively of home teams to win. They backed it, curiously, eight times; combined, the coupons paid out a collective 110,000/1.

To suggest that what followed was unlikely would be one of the understatements of the century, as the punter began ticking off the winning selections one by one on their £5.10 bets.

There would be some remarkable twists and turns, some late drama and even a dash of cash out controversy.

But, when the dust had settled, the lucky individual found themselves landing a rather whopping £386,276.

However, had they not cashed out some of their picks early, they would have walked away with a shade over £556,000.

Here’s the tale of the tape from one of 2025’s most incredible betting stories so far…

Dorset Drama

Colombia Flag Against Blue Sky

Let’s go over the details again, as it’s quite unusual what the punter – who remains anonymous, although it’s known that they’re based in Dorset – did.

They backed 19 home teams to win, making their picks from the Brazilian Serie A and other South American leagues. A total of eight bets were placed, for combined stakes of £5.10, with each of these accas containing the same 19 selections.

Why didn’t they place a single £5 acca? Well, there might be some method in the madness to splitting your stake up, as we’ll soon discover…

It would take too long to go through the 19 selections in turn, but the very first – a Colombian Primera A clash between Union Magdalena and Rionegro Aguilas – really is worth revisiting.

Our punter had backed the home side, Union Magdalena, but could only look on in disbelief as Rionegro Aguilas went 2-0 up inside 12 minutes.

The hosts pulled one back, before the most bizarre 20 minutes of football in the second period. Union Magdalena equalised from the penalty spot in the 50th minute, before having not one but two players sent off.

Down to nine men, they would have been happy to hang on for a draw… but then, somehow, Union Magdalena scored a third.

And they would close out the 3-2 victory, despite playing more than 20 minutes with just nine men!

The accas could have been dead in the water in their very first game, but the punter’s hopes lived on in remarkable fashion.

Cash Out Controversy

Then the home wins began to roll in, with many of them placed at juicy odds-against prices.

Those included Brazilian side Internacional, who defeated Club World Cup participants Botafogo 2-0, Fluminense trouncing Atletico Mineiro 3-0 and Chilean outfit Universidad de Concepcion seeing off Union San Felipe.

There would be more twists and turns. In Paraguay, Club Olimpia needed a 91st minute spot kick to overcome Sporting Ameliano, while in Brazil, Red Bull Bragantino also needed a late penalty – which was finally taken in the 106th minute following a lengthy VAR check – to defeat Gremio.

With all that drama playing out, it’s no wonder our punter got a little edgy.

With healthy cash out offers available on each of the eight bets, they came to the decision to cash out four of them and let the other four run. The value of the cashed out selections reached £172,038, which is already a life-changing day at the office.

The Ladbrokes customer then watched on as the rest of their selections landed –aided, remember, by that excruciatingly late goal for Red Bull Bragantino.

So, the four bets they had left to run all landed as well… scoring an additional £196,237.

Totting up the return from the cashed out bets and the quartet left to stand, the punter ended the rollercoaster ride some £386,276 to the good.

Of course, there would have been something of a bitter taste in the mouth: had they rejected the cash out offers, they would have won a total of £556,000.

However, the bottom line is that the Dorset dynamo had landed themselves a pot of money that will set them up for life – and you can’t say fairer than that!

“I felt like I was dreaming… I had studied the form of a lot of the teams and just felt lucky,” they recalled to Ladbrokes.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do with the winnings yet, but I’m now able to help my family out… it really is a dream come true.”
