We’re not even out of August and there’s a contender for the best bet of the football season already.
One William Hill punter struck a near 2,800/1 ten-fold on a selection of weekend games… and was no doubt left awestruck when it landed.
They had put £5 on and would have netted £13,945… nice work if you can get it.
But thanks to William Hill’s ‘Acca Boost’ promo having been activated, the actual payout was enhanced by 30% to a cool £18,127.
£5 ➡️ £18,127.95
This William Hill customer won an extra £4,182.22 thanks to our NEW Acca Boost. 🤑

Here’s the tale of the tape of what will surely be one of the best football accas of the 2025/26 campaign.
Late Drama
The bet got underway with Aston Villa’s lunchtime meeting with Newcastle United, which our punter had down as a draw.
And the contest would end goalless, as despite the Magpies pushing for a winner following Ezri Konsa’s sending off, they couldn’t find a route to goal.
Then a trio of sides – Man City, Tottenham and Sunderland – won with consummate ease, as our punter predicted.
Erling Haaland’s brace was the highlight of City’s 4-0 demolition of Wolves, while Thomas Frank’s tenure as Spurs boss got off to the best possible start with a 3-0 victory over Burnley.
And Sunderland made up for a lengthy Premier League absence by hammering a dumbstruck West Ham side 3-0 at the Stadium of Light.
But, in truth, our punter’s luck appeared to have run out as Brighton battled Fulham. They had predicted a draw here, but the Seagulls held a 1-0 lead deep into injury time.
However, these sizable accas generally rely on a bit of luck, so you can only imagine the celebrations when Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz fired home the equaliser in the 97th minute.

Five down… five to go.
Gunning for Glory
The next two picks should, as far as the odds taken were concerned, have been a doddle.
And, in truth, they were. When you back a team to win and they are 2-0 up at half-time, with their opponents having had two players sent off already, you are about as close to a sure thing as you are likely to see in football betting.
And that’s exactly what happened when Barcelona made the trip to Mallorca, where Raphinha and Ferran Torres had powered Barca into a two-goal lead after just 23 minutes.
Mallorca then had two players sent off in the space of six mad minutes, so the second half should – in theory – have been a complete walkover for the Catalan giants.
And while they didn’t exactly press the accelerator, they did further extend their lead through Lamine Yamal to complete a 3-0 victory.
Monaco were also heavily odds on for their trip to Le Havre in French Ligue 1.
They got off to a good start when Le Havre defender Gautier Lloris put through his own net, before former Tottenham defender Eric Dier doubled their advantage in the second half.
Le Havre pulled one back in the second period, but Maghnes Akliouche restored Monaco’s two goal cushion. The game would finish 3-1 to the hosts, and our punter was now three legs away from ultimate triumph.
They would unfold on one fateful afternoon of Premier League action, with the William Hill customer perhaps surprisingly nominating the Chelsea vs Crystal Palace game as a draw.
Chelsea, returning to competitive action after being crowned Club World Cup winners, were the better side without necessarily carving open their visitors. Ebe Eze, in his last game for Palace before moving to Arsenal, had a goal disallowed too, so by hook or by crook the game ended 0-0.
A stunning free-kick goal by Eze was ruled out by VAR for wall interference 👀 pic.twitter.com/NrGwAj8r46

Nottingham Forest hosted a Brentford side in a state of disarray, with Thomas Frank departing for pastures new and the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Norgaard also absent.
Our punter decided to add Forest to win to their coupon, and they were rewarded with another comfortable victory – Chris Wood and Dan Ndoye supplying the goals in a 3-1 triumph.
All of which left the Manchester United vs Arsenal game as the last one standing: our anonymous backer needing the Gunners to prevail to complete their magnificent weekend of betting.
Many onlookers would agree that Manchester United were the better side on the day, but there’s no real reward for that – instead, Arsenal hung tough and claimed all three points courtesy of Riccardo Calafiori.
From a speculative £5 bet, our punter found themselves more than £18,000 to the good – with most of their selections sailing home!
